The Sea Point Pavilion Municipal Swimming Pools were a big restoration project. The project brief was to renovate and refurbish all three of the swimming pools for the first time since they were originally built and tiled.

The project was heavy on the preparation process as we were asked to change the entire system from their traditional tiled pool surface to a custom polymer based system for the first time in the history of the baths.

We stripped thousands of tiles, prepared the substrate with a grinding and acid wash process and repaired countless areas of historical damage to the concrete interior. The final finish consisted of a 5 coat water resistant epoxy system.

The Olympic size swimming pool was marked with black swimming lane markers. We were proud to be entrusted with this historic refurbishment. Our team worked collaboratively with a local Cape Town contractor.
